@dvshaked The X201(t) series has just been released. So it’s the latest you can get. There won’t be a successor for at least 1,5 years! I would recommend to get the predecessor, the X200 tablet. The only difference between the two models is the all new and fancy core i7 processor and chipset vs. the Core 2 Duo SL9600. Of course the i7 is a lil bit fast, but in a ultra mobile notebook like this one you really won’t need the extra power. I just bought a X200 tablet 7450-65G a couple of days ago.
I’m a university student interested in purchasing a tablet for under $1500. I’m switching to PC from mac, and I’m interested in getting something that will run smoothly.
I’ve found lenovo’s webpage to be somewhat difficult to navigate. Is the x201 the newest version of the company’s tablet line? Will there be a new tablet coming out soon that will be worth waiting for?
I have X61 tablet and I’m extremely happy with it, I write all my university lecture notes on there, because it’s very light, portable, good battery life (3+ hours on 8 cell) and best digital pen experience. After a 1.5 years of operation the hard drive developed 3 bad sectors (it’s not a biggie really, it worked fine), but I phoned lenovo and I got a new HDD next day , with Lenovo programs it took a couple of hours to reinstall everything. x200 is also good, but not enough to upgrade just yet.
If you can’t affford one of these the great alternative is the x41 for like $300 Dollars. I own both and I use the x41 more than the 61 because of Xp and also it runs very smooth in windows 7. So give the x41 a try its basically a replica but with different features inside ..
You can get them new on eBay for about the same price. When you purchase, get a nice case from these guys.

Remove the spaces in the URL above, it’s the only way I could post a URL.
If you run across a multi-touch model, it doesn’t work like the iPhone multi-touch. It simply will work with the stylus or your finger but not both. It can only identify one source of input on the screen.
The X6 ultrabase adds a DVD drive, ports etc. You can get them for less than $200 or you can just use any USB type external DVD or CD drive. I think for $99 you can get the Apple slot load drive, it’s nice. Sellers will say the box is sealed, but when they offer a larger drive or more memory they open the box to install, hence your seal is broken and you can’t really verify it’s NEW. Request they ship those items out seperately.
